Sculptor Vojtech Löffler was active in the art scene from the mid-1930s. He was one of the first Eastern Slovak sculptors. Löffler was a solitary figure in the developing sculptural environment in terms of artistic direction, known as the author of lyrical chamber sculptural works. From the mid-1940s, however, he also created monumental sculptural works, through which he entered public space in an intense way. For more than three decades, the artist's name has been associated with the Vojtech Löffler Museum, where a permanent exhibition of the artist's work is presented to the public.
